Moving to Italy

One life. One heart. One story.
Food, wine, and the real story of building a life in Tuscany.

be messy

Ciao, we’re Brent and Sherry.

So there we were one morning, waking up at 50-something, scrolling through our phones, about to start a perfectly ordinary Saturday. When out of the blue a question popped out. “Do you want to move to Italy?”

Before I could slap my hands over my mouth, Brent had already answered. “Yes.”

We had both always felt a little restless, always jumping on the first plane out of town, always speculating about how life could be different for us somewhere else.

Italy was inevitable. The magic of it spoke to us on so many levels. The food, the wine, the history, the culture. So. We packed up our whole life. Sold everything. Got the visa. And bought a one way ticket to Tuscany.

Our journey hasn’t been all dreamy sunsets and endless cheese, because building an extraordinary life requires courage. It requires you to overcome uncertainty and comfort to write a story that no one else can write.

What we chose isn’t fucking safe, or expected, or a version that everyone demanded us to be. But it makes our heart happy, and it makes us feel alive.

So we’re choosing the unexpected. Because an extraordinary, perfectly imperfect life is a horrible thing to waste.

Be bold

We’re choosing a life that celebrates the flavours, the stories, and the soul of Italy.

Italy was never meant to be clean or tidy. It was never meant to be filtered, perfected, or edited by influencers. The real Italy has deep layers. It’s messy and wild, steeped in mind-blowing history. It’s tough and gritty, with unfathomed beauty. It’s desperate and simple, yet fiercely passionate and alive.

That’s the Italy that speaks to us. And if you’ve ever felt the pull of a slower table, a longer conversation, a place where you belong, instead of a place you passed through, you’ll understand why.

Life is meant to be lived. Around food that brings people together. Late nights, shared bottles of wine, spontaneous laughter, and friendships that carry depth, intention, and real presence. This is the kind of life we’ve forgotten, and it’s the one we’re choosing to build.

Stay wild

Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?
